🎤 Throwback Thursday | Safety Fest TN 2026 Honoree Educator, Joe Estey
In 1993, Joe Estey was the chair and Founding Director for the original Hanford Safety & Health Expo, a grassroots effort that brought safety learning to life. That experience sparked something bigger. The following year, Joe brought the concept to Oak Ridge, TN, where the first safety event of its type was held inside the Oak Ridge Shopping Mall, closed to the public and open only to several laboratories at the time.
Joe has watched firsthand the impact and transition the open, public format Safety Fest TN has created, bringing communities together to learn, connect, and grow together.
As a Senior Performance Improvement Specialist with Lucas Engineering & Management Services/Lucas OPIS, Joe has continued to speak, teach, and shape how professionals think about Human & Organizational Performance and leadership for decades.
