More FREE safety classes added to Safety Fest TN!

We have recently added 2 brand new classes to our schedule; one of those classes will be taught on two different days!

The first class, “Managing Safe Work in High Heat Environments”, will be taught by Gary Kepharton on Tuesday, September 9th, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Room E1.C01 of the New Hope Center.  Workers and businesses in East Tennessee are intimately familiar with hot work environments and recognize their potential to contribute to safety incidents.  This session will highlight heat management strategies and technologies from military, industrial, and athletic applications that might be adaptable to your business or circumstance.

The second class, “Fall Awareness Class”, will be taught by Dennis Berry on Monday, September 8th, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m., and Tuesday, September 9th, from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the New Hope Center Parking Lot.  Watch live on site drop tests demonstrating the forces associated with falls and how various shock absorbers and/or deceleration devices safely arrest a fall. Includes an overview of Fall Prevention and Protection: the Need for Fall Protection, Hazard Analysis (Recognition of hazards, Evaluation criteria, Control measures), Fall Prevention vs. Protection, General Principles of Fall Protection (Fall clearance calculations, Total fall distance calculations, Minimizing fall forces (with live demonstrations), Personal Fall Arrest Systems (Inspection procedures, Donning procedures, Fit test, Selection, application and care of equipment), and a Questions and Answer Session.
