Next week, class registration opens for 6th annual Safety Fest TN, an event that offers 90 free safety classes to promote safety at work, at home and in the community! This year’s event is September 11-15 at multiple location in Oak Ridge and Knoxville, TN with many classes offered at the event’s home-base, Y-12’s New Hope Center and ORAU’s Pollard Technical Center. In addition to all the free safety classes, there’s a lot more planned for Safety Fest TN. Major activities included during the week are the Community Safety Forum, the “Secret City” Fire Department Conference and the Emergency Management Forum. The popular Safety Expo will return with 44 safety equipment and training exhibitors on September 12 & 13. New for the 2017 is an Emergency Management Expo on September 14. Along with many safety and emergency management demonstrations are planned, including the Tennessee Air National Guard Black Hawk Medevac helicopter on September 12; UT’s LIFESTAR helicopter on September 13; and Pike Electric’s Live Line Demonstrator on September 12 & 13.
