Oak Ridge, TN – On May 11, the Oak Ridge Business Safety Partnership will hold its next Community Safety Forum, 8:00 – 10:00a.m. at the American Museum of Science and Energy. The theme of the forum is “Safety Culture: It’s a Community Thing.”
The May 11 forum will highlight the partnership’s success in planning, hosting and coordinating five years of Safety Fest TN, the largest safety event in the region. The forum will feature members of the planning committee and special guests to discuss the annual event’s impacts on the region, the diverse range of topics it offers, ongoing Hispanic outreach efforts, and plans for the years ahead.
Safety Fest TN is an annual safety training event, held in September that continues to expand through the growing interest and engagement from the region’s workplaces. It offers safety classes on more than 40 relevant topics that are helpful to many of the area’s companies— from CPR to electrical safety, power tools, and scaffolding. All classes are free to anyone who registers.
The Oak Ridge Business Safety Partnership is comprised of government agencies, prime and subcontracting companies, labor unions, and other institutions that work together to raise safety awareness in East Tennessee’s business community. To help achieve its goal, the partnership hosts quarterly public safety forums to educate participants on the latest safety practices and to share lessons learned.
