Calling All Instructors

The 5th annual Safety Fest TN will be held September 12 – 16, 2016. It is a week of free safety classes, seminars, demonstrations, a Safety Expo, a community Safety Forum and a Fire Officer Conference – all free of charge to everyone who registers. And, it’s going to be bigger and better than ever! Class schedule and online registration launch late June!

How does Safety Fest TN pull off a week of free safety training?

It’s a common question and the answer is, the very generous support of Partners, Sponsors and Providers (see image below). Last year, 51 instructors were provided (i.e., volunteered) by organizations just like yours. Together, they presented 66 free safety classes, seminars and demonstrations at 6 facilities in Oak Ridge and Knoxville, Tennessee.

How does my organization volunteer to present?

It’s another common question along with, “I’ve never seen a call for abstracts. Is there one?

Now’s your chance!

What are the guidelines?

Safety Fest TN classes, seminars and demonstrations provide pertinent, timely and practical information on environmental, safety and health subjects applicable to life at work, at home or in the community. There is ample time for networking and marketing during breaks, lunches and the Safety Expo. It is not appropriate to excessively market products or services (i.e., infomercials) during Safety Fest TN classes, seminars or demonstrations.

What happens after submitting a form?

The Instructor/Class subcommittee will review all submissions, contact you if they have questions and let you know if your proposal has been selected.
